The Company was formed in Halifax, West Yorkshire, UK in 1945.

In 1954 the company designed and patented the twin piston air reciprocating saw, and improved on this through another patent in 1964. The result of this was production of a lightweight, reliable saw which needed only a small volume of air to operate even to the point of being able to work effectively from the contents of a small air cylinder. This policy of product development has continued ever since with improvements to design, quality and materials being one of the reasons that the saws continue to be the best of their kind in the world.
